Meet Lady AI Master Mary: Why I Stopped Resisting AI and Started Embracing the Future (Blog by Mary)
Hello, everyone!
I’m Mary H. Fernandez, though many people know me as Lady AI Master Mary™.
I thought I’d introduce myself by telling you something that may surprise you: I resisted technology for years.
In fact, I resisted AI much like I resisted cell phones.
My first cell phone was a flip phone. Through some amazing accident, it slipped out of my pocket, and somehow I rolled my car right on top of it! To this day, I have no idea how I managed that. But looking back, I laugh because sometimes I think we send out signals and energy about the things we’re resisting, and life has a funny way of responding.
Then I got another phone and kept it until it was practically falling apart.
So believe me when I say this:
I understand resistance.
I understand looking at new technology and wondering:
- Do I really need this?
- Is this going to make life more complicated?
- Can I learn something completely new?
Over the past five years, my confidence with AI has accelerated tremendously because I finally accepted something important:
The world will not stay the same.
Technology evolves. Industries evolve. The way we communicate, work, and solve problems continues to change.
Instead of fighting the change, I became curious.
I wanted to know more.
I wanted to do more.
And the more I learned, the more excited I became.
My Foundation: Engineering and Strategic Thinking
My background is in engineering and electronic technology. That education gave me a mindset for strategic thinking and simplifying complex systems.
For many years, I used those skills on a volunteer and community level, helping move organizations, groups, clubs, and initiatives forward.
Eventually, I decided to bring all of those experiences together under my company, MHF Enterprises, LLC, where I have built an ecosystem of services designed to help people and organizations grow.
So “Why” Do I Call Myself Lady AI Master Mary?
People sometimes ask me, “Why do you call yourself an AI Master?”
Here’s my answer:
Because I am making tremendous progress producing the things I need for my business ecosystem using AI.
I am not afraid of AI.
I am intrigued by it.
I enjoy learning it.
I enjoy using it.
I enjoy discovering new possibilities with it.
Do I know everything about artificial intelligence?
Absolutely not.
I am not “the” AI expert.
But I know how to use AI to get meaningful things done.
I know how to ask better questions.
I know how to leverage tools that help me create, think strategically, solve problems, and serve people more effectively.
And perhaps most importantly, I have surrounded myself with incredible AI experts. I love elevating them, promoting them, learning from them, and sharing their gifts with the world.
My Challenge to You
I challenge you—no matter your age, no matter your profession, and no matter the stage of your business—to explore AI.
Whether we realize it or not, AI is already part of our everyday lives.
Try calling almost any customer service number today. Chances are you’ll interact with some form of AI.
It’s here.
And tomorrow it will evolve again.
The next day it will change again.
Ten years from now, it will look entirely different.
I don’t want anyone left behind.
Why I Call Myself a Connector
I’ve spent a lifetime connecting people, services, and opportunities.
I genuinely enjoy helping people discover possibilities they didn’t know existed.
That passion hasn’t changed.
If anything, AI has made me even more excited about the future.
I often think about this:
We didn’t put the sun in the sky.
We didn’t create the stars.
Yet we benefit from their existence every day.
To me, AI is a resource.
It’s like a giant library of the world.
You suddenly have access to information, ideas, experiences, and knowledge shared by hundreds, thousands, and perhaps millions of people who have chosen to contribute something meaningful.
That is extraordinary.
So don’t be afraid of AI.
Be curious.
Ask questions.
Experiment.
Explore.
Learn.
Because the future belongs to people who remain open to growth.
